Groundwork’s Sustainable Business Membership offers a simple, effective framework to help organisations understand and improve their sustainability performance year on year. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to build on existing progress, the scheme connects you with expert support, practical tools, and a network of like-minded businesses – all working towards a more sustainable future.

Each member begins with an annual sustainability assessment, carried out within the first three months of membership. This independent review highlights what you’re already doing well and identifies clear, achievable steps to improve. You’ll receive a detailed report, a practical action plan, and a sustainability score – helping you measure progress and plan ahead with confidence.
Turning insight into action
Armed with expert guidance, members can implement meaningful operational changes. Many start with energy audits to uncover opportunities to reduce on-site consumption, followed by upgrades such as LED lighting, smart sensors and improved heating control systems.
Improving efficiency goes beyond your own operations. By working with suppliers and encouraging more sustainable materials like plastics with higher recycled content, you can make a difference across your entire supply chain.

Annual membership is £1,500 + VAT per year.
